FOUNDER + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Carly Vanderheyden
Carly Vanderheyden is a multi-disciplinary dance artist based in St. Louis, MO currently pursuing her MFA in Dance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts. Carly grew up in Green Bay, WI and graduated from the University of Iowa with a BFA in Dance-Pedagogy, BA in Health and Human Physiology, and a certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship. Carly performed as a company artist with The Big Muddy Dance Company, now Saint Louis Dance Theatre, under the artistic direction of Brian Enos (2017-2022) and Kirven Douthit-Boyd (2022-2024). Most recently, Carly performed with VIM VIGOR / B12 in Berlin, Germany, FLOCK in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany, in Resilience Dance Company’s Collective Realities in St. Louis, and in collaboration with Brendan Fernandes at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation in St Louis. Carly is an American Ballet Theatre certified ballet teacher, 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and Certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor. Additionally, Carly is a freelance photographer and graphic designer, as well as a teaching artist, choreographer, and rehearsal director. Carly is the founder of St. Louis Dance HQ and creative director of Dancers Making Moves. Soraya Cohen
Soraya Cohen (she/her) was born and raised in Ames, IA where she trained at Performance Dance Centre under the direction of Shelby Droste. She went on to attend the University of Iowa to pursue a BFA in Dance alongside a BA in International Studies and a minor in French. Throughout her studies, she’s had the pleasure of performing in works by Aaron Samuel Davis, Martha Graham, Duane Lee Holland Jr., Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa, Stephanie Miracle, Melinda Jean Myers, and Snack Break Movement Arts. She is in her first season as a company dancer with Resilience Dance Company for their 2025-26 Season!
