Space Station Dance Residency: Run it Back Fundraising Event

Show alert! Add Space Station’s upcoming fundraising show to your calendar! Their goal for this production is to make $2500 to go towards their upcoming summer residency.

What is “Run it Back?” - Space Station alums are making a new mega-piece in response to their years of past-shows. Together, these artists respond to pieces that have affected Space Station’s artistic journey as a way of giving back and helping Space Station raise money for their programming.

These “fundraising” ticket prices are not necessarily fundraising prices, but Space Station makes a point to always make art and dance affordable to all, and these prices are double what is usually charged. There will be a pay-it-forward option when purchasing tickets, and they always accept individual donations. Please message Space Station if you have any questions or would like to donate directly. You can also email them at spacestationdance@gmail.com

Space Station Dance Residency Fundraiser

This year’s 2024 Space Station Dance Residency Fundraising Event features “Cloven III,” an evening-length work by Jacob Henss in collaboration with Betsy Brandt. This duet, performed by both creators, is the third installment of an exploration of the rural relationship between farmer and bovine as a lens for personal reflection. The dairy cow is a site of industrialized sexuality and consumption, and the “Cloven” trilogy is an ode to this overlooked yet ubiquitous animal, symbol, and food source. This eccentric choreographic work lives at the intersections of experimental theater, contemporary dance, burlesque, and performance art. Its St. Louis debut will be followed by a series of performances throughout the Midwest this spring.
